welcome. I’m Sil.

I work with women who are hungry for more depth, meaning, and joy in their lives.

For two decades, I had the incredible good-fortune of learning from a master teacher and elder- Jungian author and analyst Marion Woodman. Her wisdom changed the trajectory of my life. Her body of work deeply informs my work as a coach and a teacher.

“Feminine consciousness is concerned with process. It sees the goal as the journey itself and recognizes that the goal is consciousness itself.”

Marion Woodman, Jungian Author and Analyst

My work is inspired and informed by Jungian Psychology.

The intellectual and spiritual framework for my teaching and my coaching practice is inspired by my training with the renowned Jungian author and analyst Marion Woodman.

I completed her BodySoulRhythms certification program (co-taught with Mary Hamilton and Ann Skinner) in 2008. In this program I was trained in dreamwork, archetypal psychology, and the art and science of listening to the wisdom of the body.

“Sil redefines the feminine archetypes of mother and crone by the way in which she wholeheartedly embodies and lives them. She is the wise elder who guides women in the essential work of restoring their motherlines- in their bodies and souls. In doing this, she shows us how to make space for all of who we are: what Sil lovingly refers to as ‘the good, the bad, and the beautiful’.”

Kimberly Ann Johnson, author of The Fourth Trimester and Call of the Wild

“There is no sense talking about ‘being true to yourself’ until you are sure what voice you are being true to. It takes hard work to differentiate the voices of the unconscious.”

Marion Woodman, Jungian Author and Analyst

Healing with my mother felt impossible.

My experience of Marion Woodman’s lineage of unconditional feminine love- my spiritual motherline- made it possible for me to heal my historically difficult relationship with my own mother. This has felt like nothing short of a miracle, especially since the healing occurred without any need for me to personally hash anything out with my mother, or to involve her in my inner process.

I wanted to experience my body and psyche as my home.

Through Marion Woodman’s guidance, I gathered the strength and wisdom that I needed to face my inner negative mother complex- those voices in my unconscious- and to make peace with my body and food, and also to love and reclaim rejected parts of myself. Loving and reclaiming those parts of myself helped me to come to terms with- and to make peace with- my mother’s faults, her inconsistencies, and her conditional love. By developing an inner consistency and an unconditional love towards myself, I created the inner conditions that were necessary to create real and lasting emotional security and, therefore, the safety to live my life authentically. I now experience both my body and my psyche as my home- and not enemy territory- no matter where I am in the world.

I learned to meet difficult passages as rites of passage.

Marion Woodman’s unique Jungian lineage focuses on bringing the archetypal Divine Feminine into our embodied, earthly lives. Her lineage is my lineage, it is my spiritual motherline, and it has been my lifeline during difficult times.

The genius of my teacher’s scholarship and her personal loving containment were crucial for my developing a capacity to meet difficulties with patience, courage, and compassion. For example, a very painful divorce became a kind of embodied scholarship for me- a lived alchemical experience- of moving through what Woodman showed me could be a rite of passage. By showing me how to honor my difficult passages as deeply meaningful and universal, Woodman helped me to find infinitely resilient places in myself.

“It is our very fear of the future that distorts the now that could lead to a different future if we dared to be whole in the present.”

Marion Woodman, Jungian Author and Analyst

I bring 40 years experience to my work as a coach and a teacher: experience as a nurse practitioner, psychotherapist, workshop leader, author, and a Mothering & Daughtering coach.

I graduated from Brown University where I majored in Women’s Studies. I graduated from Marion Woodman’s BodySoul Rhythms training (co-taught with Ann Skinner and Mary Hamilton) in dreamwork, archetypal psychology, and the art and science of listening to the wisdom of the body.

I guide women in finding meaning in their healing process so that they can come to deeply experience a soul-led life with self-love at its core.

  • I guide women in reclaiming the rejected parts of themselves so that they can experience their wholeness. A whole woman has a firm standpoint from which she can embrace her destiny: she can consciously choose her own unique and authentic life.

  • I help women to heal their motherline.

  • I guide women in healing their relationship to their body and food.

  • I teach women to learn to listen to and to be guided by their dreams.

  • I lead Marion Woodman-inspired programs.

“Sil is passionate and compassionate. She lives what she teaches. She brings deep feeling and wisdom to our work together and it has changed me from the inside out.”

Mothering & Daughtering:

From 2005-2018 my badass and brilliant daughter Eliza (now age 31) and I co-created a beautiful body of work for mothers and their adolescent daughters:

Mothering & Daughtering.

Eliza now runs her own business mentoring teen girls at Badass Girls.

This photo is from 2015.

“If these challenges [between mother and daughter] are a generational thing, Sil has surely broken the pattern with her own daughter.”

Jane Fonda Actor, Activist & Author
